Water of Life

“Healing waters”

So it has been written

Warmly lapping around my arms

Rocking, lulling

Steady, decisive

Knowledge whispered

Covering wounds

A paper thin layer

The waves are small

To not reopen

The damage

“Be mindful, to whom you open the door

Lest you invite further strikes.

Who you are is good.

Who you are is good.”

It’s time to stop

Slashing myself

With insults, with thoughts

His words are

Life to me

Like water for

A shrinking soul

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.”

Psalms 46:4 NIV

Hi, I'm Lisa, a born-and-bred-in-Manitoba mom of 2 boys. Having lived in 7 different Manitoba towns or cities, I've managed to stay warm in them all πŸ˜œβ„. I am trained as a music therapist but currently work as a fulltime stay-at-home-mom by day, and a piano teacher in the evenings. By night, well...I sleep. Usually.

  1. Lisa, I absolutely love your poem and the heartfelt sentiments you’ve shared! Most of all, I love how you’ve tied Psalms 46:4 into your message. You’re amazing!

My favorite lines have to be: “It’s time to stop – Slashing myself – With insults, with thoughts.”

Wow, those are profound words that will strike you right in the heart! How is it that we talk to ourselves in a way we would never talk to someone we love? I’m guilty of this too, so know you’re not alone!

You’re a gift, a blessing to us all, and an amazing person. I’m grateful for your life, your words and your ministry. Never underestimate the beauty of you, in every single way. You are special and you are deeply loved! β™₯ Sending my very best to you this day and always.
